Anonymus 498 was a patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and magistros; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the ninth century; his name is lost: Zacos and Veglery 3224. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with .. - .. - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: ..... - .. πατρικ.. - β' α' σπα' και μ. - .ηστρ'. The titles read: ... πατρικίῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ μαγίστρῳ.
