Anonymus 497 was a basilikos mandator and chartoularios of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the ninth century; his name is mostly lost but included the letters βα: Zacos and Veglery 3222. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - ς. - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: ....βα - .. β' μανδ' - . .αρτουλ' Θε - ..λονικ' . The name and titles read: ...βα.. βασιλικῷ μανδάτορι καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ Θεσσαλονίκης.
