Anonymus 305 was a pious man, at whose house Gregory the Decapolite (Gregorios 79) lodged in Rhegium in Italy; during the visit some locals visiting the house tried unsuccessfully to give Gregorios 79 money which he feared came from a tainted source: Ignatius, Vita Greg. Dec. 11. The date was probably in 833 or 834, early in the persecution of iconophiles by Theophilos 5.
