Anonymus 297 was the bishop of Thessalonike who persuaded Ioseph 12 (Joseph the Hymnographer), then a monk, to accept the priesthood: Ioannes, Vita Ioseph. Hymnog. 952A (ὁ τῆς πόλεως ... ἐπίσκοπος).
