Anonymus 117 was a spatharios and strategos of Makedonia; owner of a seal dateable to the iconoclast period (VIII/M IX): Ebersolt, Sceaux byzantins , p. 402, no. 527. Obv.: cruciform invocative monogram in the name of the Virgin. The reverse has the titles: ...σπαθάριος and στρατηγὸς Μακεδονὶας. Cf. Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 102 (accepting the date and recording the man's name as Sisinnios).
