Anonymus 1 was the son (τὸν ἴδιον υἱόν) of Pasagnathes 1 (= Theodoros Rshtuni, an Armenian leader), sent as a hostage to Mu`awiya 1 in 651/652 to guarantee the treaty made by his father Pasagnathes 1: Theoph. AM 6143. Anonymus 1 is identical to Anonymus 738.
