In 793 Andronikos 1 was spatharios and tourmarches of the Armeniakoi when they were in rebellion against the emperor Constantine VI (Konstantinos 8); after the emperor defeated the Armeniakoi on 26 May 793, Andronikos 1 was captured and executed, together with Theophilos 4 and Gregorios 30: Theoph. AM 6285 (Ἀνδρόνικον, σπαθάριον καὶ τουρμάρχην αὐτῶν).
