Amandus 1 was bishop of Traiecta (i.e. Maastricht); Amandus 1 wrote to pope Martin (Martinos 6) proposing to resign from his bishopric because of the heretical leanings of some of his clergy; he received from Martinos 6 a letter urging him to remain in his see and defend orthodoxy: Conc.
