Aimilianos 3 was a monk in Bithynia, possibly a hegoumenos, mentioned with his fellow monks (οἱ περὶ τὸν ἀδελφὸν Αἰμιλιανὸν ἐν Θυνίᾳ: p. 131, lines 51-52) in a letter written by Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) in 810 or 811; they had suffered for their stance over the Moechian schism and been harassed and then punished by the (unnamed) metropolitan bishop of Nikomedeia; according to Theodoros 15, their monastery was sacked like enemy plunder: Theod. Stud., Ep. 48 (addressed to Athanasios 19; on the date, see Fatouros, pp. 191*ff.).
