A monk (Ἀγαπητὸν τὸν αἰδεσιμώτατον μοναστὴν: p. 611, lines 4-5); he is mentioned in a letter written by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), soon after the death of Leo V (Leo 15), to bishops in exile at Cherson; a fellow exile of theirs (ἕνα τῶν συνδεδιωγμένων ἀδελφῶν: p. 611, line 4), he was sent by them to Constantinople to learn the state of affairs after the death of Leo; while there he met the exiled patriarch Nikephoros 2 as well as Theodoros 15; on his return with this letter (τὸν γραμματηφόρον: p. 612, line 33), he also took gifts from Theodoros for the bishops: Theod.Stud.
